Dear Friends,
Our March 10th "insiders" tasting with Shokrian Vineyard at The Daisy is going to be very special! We tasted through the wines at the vineyard and they are stellar. They will pair beautifully with The Daisy's delectable food.

Join us March 10th at The Daisy on State Street to taste Shokrian Vineyard's highly rated wines--two were awarded 93 Points by Wine Enthusiast. We (Tama and Meridith) tasted through the wines at the vineyard in Cat Canyon and were so impressed we both joined their wine club!

Shokrian Vineyard is a certified organic vineyard with biodynamic farming practices. Our tasting menu:

2020 Shokrian Vineyard Viognier (usual retail $42)
Organically farmed and naturally fermented in neutral French oak. Aged 8 months in stainless steel before bottling. Classic bright white flowers with ripe apricot and orange pith on the entry. Just enough weight to know it's a Viognier, but enough acid to make your mouth water for more.

2018 Shokrian Vineyard Chardonnay (usual retail $32)
Fermented and aged in neutral French oak for 6 months. Finished in stainless steel for 2 months before bottling. Aromas of faint flint and noisette give a subtle mouthfeel upon entry. Enough weight to accompany a light meal, yet fresh enough to enjoy as an aperitif.

2018 Shokrian Vineyard Unfiltered Pinot (usual retail $45)
93 Points! - Wine Enthusiast. Extremely light in the glass, this wine by Drake Whitcraft is sprightly and refreshing, starting with aromas of cranberry juice, raspberry, strawberry and hibiscus. It’s crisp and tight on the palate, where those red fruit and flower flavors meet with bright acidity. This one goes down all too easily. - Matt Kettmann

2018 Shokrian Vineyard Harvest Moon GM (usual retail $35)
Hibiscus, blackberry and mineral aromas followed by quince and earth on the palate with a medium dry finish. All organically farmed, from the north facinghillside at Shokrian vineyard, 50/50 grenache mourvedre, only 50 cases produced.

2018 Shokrian Vineyard Opulent Goat Syrah (usual retail $48)
93 Points! - Wine Enthusiast. A crisp black-raspberry-sorbet aroma makes for a fresh, inviting interpretation of Syrah by Winemaker Alice Anderson. The palate is grippy in structure, offering tart blackberry and lavender flavors, clinging to that snappy and fresh vibe. - Matt Kettmann
100% whole cluster fermented and aged in French oak. Produced with no additives ever.

Included:

  • Marinated Olives
  • Falafel w/ Zhough (mildly spicy sauce made with herbs, garlic and coriander)
  • Hummus w/ Confit Garlic and Za'atar served with Flatbread
  • Lemon-Herb Labneh w/ Farmers Market crudites
  • Beef & Lamb Kofta Meatballs with Tzatziki

All of The Daisy's produce is organic and the proteins are sustainably sourced. All of the above is made in-house in their kitchen by Chef Carmen.
