Ecommerce Deconstructed: mashup with DenverWordPress meetup

Ecommerce Deconstructed: mashup between WordPressInteractiveTraining & DenverWordPress meetup groups!

Hi All. I'll be co-hosting part of an upcoming DenverWordPress meetup all about ECOMMERCE.

I'll be training specifically on WooCommerce, but there will be a lot of Q&A going on about general ecommerce and WordPress.

I know there are a lot of people that are part of both groups. Please RSVP to this event on our group (this post) so I know to look for you, but you can see all the details (and possibly RSVP again) on the DenverWordPress meetup group event listing:

http://www.meetup.com/DenverWordPress/events/108942782/

This is an in-person meetup! Woohoo!

I hope to see you there...

~Jeff

2) Look at WordPress solutions: such as WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads and more

3) Look at Hosted solutions: such as Shopify and 1shoppingcart

4) Finally answer your questions and discussion different options

We'll be at the Denver Press Club http://www.denverpressclub.org/ where you can purchase dinner for around $ 10 and get an evening refreshment at the full bar. The website posts the menu for the evening.

Would you like to be a presenter? Send an email to meetup @ sbwps dot com with an outline.

I would like to find out about eCommerce solutions that allow for detailed custom shopping options such as size, color, adding text to products, etc. Also - is the Wordpress environment robust enough to handle a large inventory of items - or should I be considering other eCommerce options?

I plan on doing a more comprehensive WooCommerce training soon where we'll cover that (Variations & Attributes). Stay tuned...

It was fun and informative. Great idea to merge the 2 different WordPress meetup groups, and great to see some folks I've only met thus far on the internet. I plan on doing a more comprehensive WooCommerce training soon.

    Peni:

Though we won't have time to go into any detail today, WooCommerce can handle Variations (size, color, weight, etc.) AND custom attributes (inventory location, whatever etc.).

Regarding large inventory of items I would think WordPress & WooCommerce wouldn't have any problems (limited only by host such as database, memory, storage, etc.). But I have no direct experience with very large number of items in the thousands.

I'm only going to have 15 minutes during this meetup to cover WooCommerce. The rest of the time (1 1/2 to 2 hours total?) others will be covering other Ecommerce solutions and lots of Q&A (which I'll also be helping with).

So I'll probably set up a more in depth WooCommerce training in the near future.
