Guided walk Mexico City - Prehispanic evidences of the Mexicas in Tenochtitlan

Details

Let´s travel back in time, where the Mexicas controlled the amazing city of Tenochtitlan and the rest of the Aztec empire. The city now known as Mexico City was founded as Tenochtitlan by the Aztecs in 1325 and a century later became the dominant city-state of the Aztec Triple Alliance, formed in 1430 and composed of Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan. At its height, Tenochtitlan had enormous temples and palaces, a huge ceremonial center, residences of political, religious, military, and merchants. Its population was estimated at least 100,000 and perhaps as high as 200,000 in 1519 when the Spaniards first saw it.

On the guided walk by certified guide, we will explore the historic city center of Mexico City, looking for evidences of its prehispanic past. The most obvious is Templo Mayor, that we will explain from the outside (we will not enter the site nor the museum), but there are many more evidences that we can discover during this amazing walk in the city center. Let´s travel in time together !!!
