Axapusco is a charming town in the State of Mexico, rich in colonial heritage and timeless traditions. Its historic haciendas reflect the legacy of Mexico’s pulque production, offering a glimpse into the past with stunning architecture and peaceful countryside views. Axapusco is a hidden gem for those seeking history, culture, and rural charm.
AQUEDUCT OF PADRE TEMBLEQUE
This architectural marvel was built in the 16th century to bring water to the city of Otumba, Mexico. It is an impressive sandstone aqueduct stretching over 39 miles, that contains 68 arches up to 75 feet tall and was built without mortar - a remarkable engineering feature, designated as an unique UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will walk alongside the towering arches and imagine what it took to construct this aqueduct by hand centuries ago.
