What we're about

Hello, my name is Daniel and I'm starting this meetup group for anyone that wants to practice getting outside their comfort zone and overcome their fear of rejection and improve their confidence.

I have social anxiety and this is the first meetup group I've ever started. So this is me stepping outside my comfort zone and doing something that scares me.

I would like to meet people who are also interested in improving their confidence so that we can support each other and grow together.

Let's Be Honest Together

Dublin Central Mission

I am scheduling this event to practice being more honest with people and ourselves. A lot of times we don't talk about what we are really going through because we are worried of what people might think of us. I have been a people-pleaser all my life and I am now trying to be more authentic and show myself to the world how I really am. In this event we will be practicing being honest with each other by doing some exercises based on honesty and connection. Anything you share in the session is confidential and shall not be disclosed outside of the room. We will aim to provide a supportive environment and open up about our lives freely. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please only RSVP if you intend to come and change your RSVP to 'No' if you are not going to be able to attend. This is out of courtesy to other members that might want to attend the event and it will also help us to prepare for the event better. NOTE: This event has a price of 5 Euro per person to cover the cost of the room

Comfort Zone Crusher

St Stephens Green Shopping Center

Let's meet at the entrance of Stephen's Green shopping centre (on the corner of King Street with St Stephen's Green). I'll be holding a sign that says "ISF" to make it easier to find me. If you RSVP'd but you can't make it to the event, please change your RSVP to 'No'. I will show you a list of challenges so you can pick one to do or come up with your own idea. Then we will split into groups of two and go to do our challenges. So one person will do their challenge first and the other one will be there for emotional support, and then the roles will be reversed. We will regroup after 10 minutes and talk about how the challenges went. After that, we can go for a second and even third round if you're up for it. If you wish to know more about rejection therapy, please watch the following TED talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/jia_jiang_what_i_learned_from_100_days_of_rejection And this is a video of me doing a shame-attacking exercise (lying down on the street for 2 minutes): https://www.dropbox.com/s/bq39vcmb2rm5qdp/Edited%20video%20King%20st.mp4?dl=0 Everyone is welcome to come and you will not be forced to do a challenge, although I highly encourage you to give it a shot. I look forward to meeting you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. See you!
