HaperDB teamed up with eTrans this past year and we will discuss a the solution that was implemented. eTrans offers a fleet tracking solutions ranging from GPS location through distracted driver tracking. They are located in Kolkata, India. Their current implementation sends all data to the cloud for processing, which means any time the truck strays outside of GSM signal the truck is running blind. I worked with them on a proof of concept where we transitioned the route event engine from the cloud to run onboard the truck itself. This means that events can be detected in real-time and decisions can be made on the truck. In this session I will discuss the before solution, the pain points of relying on the cloud for all processing, the POC process and solution, and what the future could look like for eTrans.
