REIGNING IN CARBON – The EPA’s Clean Power Plan
Erin Overturf, Western Resources Advocates (http://westernresourceadvocates.org/)

Learn how the Clean Power Plan works and hear an up-to-date analysis of its fate in the courts and what Colorado can do to keep going forward. The CPP is key to reaching the climate goals to which the US committed in Paris.

Tasked to limit carbon pollution it takes aim at its biggest source, our nation’s power plants. States, including Colorado, have begun the planning for its implementation but the CPP is facing fierce legal attacks from Republicans who deny the proven role of carbon in climate change, and from utilities and Big Coal protecting their profits.

Erin Overturf (http://westernresourceadvocates.org/staff/erin-overturf/) is Senior Staff Attorney with Western Resource Advocates (http://westernresourceadvocates.org/), representing WRA in state regulatory processes and civil litigation, and at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Erin served as an Assistant Attorney General representing the PUC, the Colorado Air Pollution Control Division, and the Colorado Energy Office.

Stay after the presentation for food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks during our networking reception!

The event is free but we accept donations to cover the food expenses.

Co-sponsored with the JUC Green Task Force and Golden Earth Days. Generously supported by Jefferson Unitarian Church (http://jeffersonunitarian.org) and by our speakers who give their time and expertise pro bono - we are grateful!

JCRES is all volunteer - we could use your help:
