What we’re about

Welcome to new New Zealanders seeking work in Aotearoa. Establishing your career in NZ can be hard, particularly for new immigrants where sometimes their experience and qualifications are not always recognised by NZ employers.

Whether you need support/friendship from people in a similar situation or help during your job search - this group is here for you. Meetings are an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and hear from guest speakers which often  include recruitment and immigration specialists.  We frequently have members share their job search success stories - our most popular event and a chance to celebrate the success of our members.

Your host is Leeanne Parkinson from CareerSpheres an experienced Career Planning and Transition Consultant who supports a diverse range of people who are actively planning their next career step, developing a long-term career plan, lost their jobs due to redundancy or are immigrants trying to establish their careers in NZ and struggling to get a job that reflects their experience and qualifications from their home country to help them successfully navigate through career transitions and get work “worth getting out of bed for”.

As I've just taken over hosting this group, I'll be seeking your input and advice into what kind of events you would like to see more (or less of). Please feel free to reach out via messaging on this page or request a connection with me via linkedin here (don't forget to add your message when doing so) if you have any ideas or would like a brief chat about your personal situation.
