Lean Coffee online - come chat about Rust!

Details

"Lean Coffee" is a framework for facilitating structured, but agenda-less, gatherings. It comes from a group that wanted to meet to chat about lean techniques over coffee, hence the name Lean Coffee.

  • The Agenda-less Agenda *
  • 16:00: Event starts, everyone says 'hi', Justin introduces the lean coffee format. We make small talk while everyone adds suggestions for conversation topics to a virtual whiteboard.
  • 16:15: Everyone reads through the whiteboard, and adds a vote next to any topic they're also interested in.
  • 16:20: We pick up the most voted topic, and start discussing it.
  • Every 10 minutes after that: If the conversation is still going well, keep going, otherwise pull the next most voted topic.
  • Add a new topic or vote to the whiteboard at any time. If something someone says sparks an unrelated thought and you don't want to derail the current conversation, add it to the whiteboard!
  • 17:30: We say goodbye and everyone disappears to go cook supper.
  • Platform *

We're going to try out Jitsi as the online venue this time. Jitsi is an open source videoconferencing tool. You can either join in your web browser (Firefox or Chrome only), or download the mobile app. You don't need to create an account to use Jitsi, just tell it your name as you join.
