This walking event is FREE for holders of the KEN'S EVENT CARD.

THAMES PATH WALK from the O2 in North Greenwich and along waterways of Canary Wharf.

Get out, explore and enjoy London's abundant green spaces and waterways. Give up the city streets for a day and breathe some fresh air. Improve your overall fitness levels after lock-down.

SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES APPLY. The walk will be adequately spaced out in small groups of twos and threes (no bunching of more than 6 persons permitted); please also be sure that when waiting for the start of the walk that you maintain adequate social distancing (or wear a mask) outside the station. Please carry a hand sanitiser and no handshaking. This walking event ends on arrival at CANARY WHARF. If you intend to visit a pub after the walk please do so in small groups and maintain the social distancing guidelines as indicated by the venue.

ROUTE: Starting from the O2 (Millenium Dome) at North Greenwich Station we walk along the THAMES PATH then cross under the Thames River via the Greenwich Foot Tunnel before making our way along the waterways of CANARY WHARF to end at our pub/restaurant close to the Jubilee line and DLR stations at Canary Wharf.

DISTANCE: Approx 5 miles. Entirely flat.

START: Meeting at North Greenwich station (Zone 2/3). When you arrive at the start look for the 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign. If you are running a few minutes late, don't worry, we usually wait a short time for latecomers. If you are more than 15 mins late you will have to catch us up. Head for the Thames then southwest along the Thames Path towards Greenwich.

FINISH: We end this walk in Canary Wharf close to Canary Wharf DLR and Jubilee Line Stations.

RAIN POLICY - If the weather is very wet, we may curtail or postpone the walk, therefore please check this page on the day. Light rain is not usually a problem.

RISK WARNING FOR ALL WALKS: Dress appropriately for weather conditions with non-slip sturdy shoes and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You must be moderately fit for this walk and be able to walk for four miles without a break. In these walks we use; pavements, cross busy roads, public parkland, towpaths alongside water, rights of way, bridlepaths, country lanes and other established paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Please take care as surfaces may be muddy, slippery, uneven, tree roots may protrude, there may be low overhanging branches,stinging nettles, and some paths also have joggers, cyclists and even cars (country lanes). On occasion wild,domestic and farm animals may be encountered. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

Unfortunately no dogs and children are permitted on these walks.
