LEDs, LEDs... (9yr and up)

Details
Robotics starts with the basic understanding of electronics components.
In this series of classes you and your child will learn about the basic components such as: LEDs, resistors, capacitors, timers and infra-red devices through fun and engaging projects. Armed with this knowledge you will be able to move towards programing simple robots using the Arduino platform (later in the advanced track). You will also create your own circuit boards later on and learn to solder components on your circuit board.
This class: Introduction to prototyping, LEDs and resistors.
LEDs are fun to play with. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors. In this class, learn how to prototype basic circuits on a breadboard using LEDs, resistors and switches. While basic, it is fundamental to learn some of the details and implementations of LEDs.
The fee: The class is $20/student ($5 off for siblings). The fees are collected by Kids 2.0 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to educate kids about technology. All amounts are re-invested to prepare new classes and fun projects.
Age range: 9 yrs and up. No prior experience required.
Parking: Free 2 hours parking can be found along H St.
