Knoxville Hiking Meetup

Come spread some Holiday Joy!

We are hosting a non-hike event for the Holidays.
This is meant to be a Fun and Merry followship time for our group. I know, it's crazy that we like to hang out together and get to know each other better even when we are not out in the woods.

I think we have a couple of our best hosts heading up this event. Come on out and join us in this fun filled evening.

What you need to know:

*We will be meeting at the Marble City Market and Food Court on Depot Ave. for dinner at 7pm. (We will need the RSVP to stay accurate to get tables.)
**Moved to this location because of the number of attendees.

**Then we will take a walk to see all the pretty Christmas lights downtown. We will try staying together as much as we can, but with this many attendees it will be hard. Please team up with others and make subgroups.

***There will also be music venture that we can check out for those that are willing to stay up a bit later.

Also, come earlier to do some shopping. I'm sure a lot of that will be taking place.

Come join us for a day of paddling to check out the Sandhill Cranes at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge,
With up to 20,000 sandhill cranes returning to the area each year, you’re bound to be caught up in the spectacular display of the sandhill cranes, eagles, waterfowl, and more on the refuge.
Sit on tops and non-enclosed recreational kayaks are not recommended.
I recommend you bring a thermos with some type of warm beverage just to keep the inner core warm.
Lifejackets are required and must be worn while on the water.
This is about a 5 mile paddle and pretty much protected except the crossing of the Hiwassee River.

It is 6 months out but the window for booking sites has opened.

The GSMNP campgrounds fill up fast, so if you are thinking of joining us get your site fast. For the most part, the A section is mostly tenting sites. There is only a hand of pop up/ camper sites (like 5 or so left).

There will be fun around the campfire and some hiking planned.
Lots of trails in this area and some still need them for maps they are working on. Those hikes will be posted closer to the date.

*A heads up, I am planning to post lots of campouts in 2026.
