What we’re about
This Meetup group is operated by Friends of Long Island Dog Parks (June 18, 2020), which does business as the Long Island Dog Owners Group (LI-DOG). Our goal is to socialize with other dog owners and organize fun things to do with our dogs including dog-friendly events and enjoying Long Island's beautiful dog-friendly parks and beaches!

Does your dog like to swim and play with other dogs off-leash? Would you like to spend a morning with your pup, other dog owners and the folks of LI-DOG for some summer fun? Then, please join us at Mud Creek Off-Leash Dog Beach in East Patchogue on Saturday morning, July 19th for a Doggie Beach Cleanup and Pawty!
At our Beach Pawty, we’ll let our furry friends frolic in the sand and swim in the calm waters of the Great South Bay! We’ll also have plenty of tennis balls and Frisbees on hand to add to the fun.
This year we have an extra special treat for the dogs--all pups attending will receive a sample of delicious kibble and other goodies, all generously donated by Farmina Foods.
A clean-up of the Off-Leash Beach will start at 9:30 a.m., so if you and your fur baby would like a little extra time in the sun, please join us in getting the area ready for our meetup!
Please remember to bring plenty of water for you and your pup, your own towels, beach chairs and an umbrella!
PLEASE NOTE: Mud Creek has no amenities-- no poop bag stations, no bathrooms and no water fountains. There is one trash receptacle as you leave the beach. LI-DOG will have poop bags on hand, but please help us make the event a success by remembering to bring these items. We will also have a large garbage bag in which to dispose of them.
Mud Creek is a natural borders dog park, which means it is not fenced on most sides. For everyone’s safety, please only bring dogs that are well-socialized—used to playing with other dogs off-leash—and that will reliably come when called. Please, no retractable leashes.
To access the dog beach, use the double-gate entry, walk along the fence, then turn right onto the beach as soon as the fence ends. Please keep off-leash dogs out of the area in front of the fence, which is a designated no-dog zone.
Parking is on the street. Please keep dogs on-leash until you get into the off-leash area.

This event really needs four or five strong people to volunteer! We need help carrying stuff—umbrellas, water, a table, dog toys—from our cars onto the beach and back again.
You can also help at the LI-DOG table: sign people in, hand out tennis balls to the dogs, etc.
Email us at events@lidog.org with Doggie Beach Pawty Help in the subject line if you can help make our Beach Pawty a success! Thank you in advance!
Weather-related changes: In the event of inclement weather or exceedingly hot conditions, please check our Meetup or Facebook groups or our website by 9:30 a.m. that morning. If there are no announcements, the Beach Pawty is on!
We look forward to seeing you and your dogs Saturday morning, July 19th at our Beach Pawty!
