What we’re about
This Meetup group is operated by Friends of Long Island Dog Parks (June 18, 2020), which does business as the Long Island Dog Owners Group (LI-DOG). Our goal is to socialize with other dog owners and organize fun things to do with our dogs including dog-friendly events and enjoying Long Island's beautiful dog-friendly parks and beaches!

Join us for a HOWLING GOOD time on the banks of the Swan River at The Pine Grove Inn in East Patchogue on Sunday, Oct. 20th for LI-DOG’s Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest & Pawty!
Dress up your pup and yourself in your Howl-o-ween finest and enjoy music, games, raffles, prizes, delicious food and drinks, and lots of fun for the pups!
Our costume contest and parade is sure to be the highlight of our pawty! People and pups can compete in one of two categories – Best Standalone Pet or Best Pet/Parent duo. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category! The competition can be stiff, so make sure you come up with a GREAT idea for you and your pup. Costume contest and parade starts at 1:30 p.m.
Thank to our first-ever Prize Sponsor, Who's Your Doggy Long Island, doggy day care and boarding, for generously funding our prizes! Thank you also to Barks Bakeshop for donating the delicious treats that will go in all our winners' gift bags.
Would you like your pup to make a special work of art for you? Stop by our Paw Printing Booth where they can help complete a fun Howl-o-ween design just for you!
Is your pup brave? Then, stop off at the Spooky (ok - not so spooky) Photo Booth and capture them in their costume among our “goblins”!
Throughout the event, you’ll be able to order delicious food and Halloween-themed drinks for purchase from The Pine Grove Inn menu. There’s even a doggie menu from which your pup can choose a tasty meal!
Special guests include: Laura Paesano, the talented owner of Laura Pea Photography, who will be on-hand photographing all our guests. Also in attendance will be Barks Bakeshop where you can pick up some special treats for your pups. Also, Rachel The Dog Trainer for You will be there to answer any training questions you may have. More special guest announcements to come!
