Full Moon winter hike to Pinnacle Hill in Wrentham S.F. via the Warner Trail

Details
Come Hike under the Full Wolf Moon to Pinnacle Hill in Wrentham State Forest
Please join L.L. Bean Mansfield on our second full moon hike of the winter to one of my very favorite local hiking destinations: Pinnacle Hill in Wrentham State Forest. The January full moon occurs on Saturday 1/26. We’ll start our hike at 5:00PM in the parking area for the Wrentham Senior Center at 400 Taunton Street, Wrentham, MA. Please arrive by 4:45PM so we can get started on time. Plan on bringing a flashlight or headlamp but we’ll try not to use it, letting the Full Wolf Moon guide our excursion. On this evening outing we’ll plan on hiking to Pinnacle Hill where we’ll find good views of Gillette Stadium and the Boston skyline off in the distance. The hike will follow a well traveled section of the Warner Trail as it winds its’ way northward. We’ll plan an extended stay on Pinnacle Hill for viewing the disk of the nearly full moon and the surrounding vistas. Please bring binoculars if you have them. After we rest and refresh ourselves we’ll retrace our route back to our vehicles. This hike should run the full 3 hours or more depending how long we linger on Pinnacle Hill and cover about 3 miles in distance. Please plan on bringing snowshoes to use if there is sufficient snow cover (8 inches or more). Should we need to make changes to the hike mandated by poor road or weather conditions those changes will be posted to this site. Please consider joining our first full moon hike of 2013.
The minimum age for attending is 8 (Children 8-15 yrs must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 yrs must have a parent/guardian sign participant agreement but do not need to attend).
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Dressing in layers works best.
Wear appropriate footwear for hiking and/or snowshoeing.
Please bring water, snacks and any personal medicines and gear you may need as well. These outings are free but you are responsible to have everything you need.
A camera and/or binoculars are always a welcome addition.
Leashed, people friendly, well socialized outdoor dogs are welcome at this venue.
Please arrive 15 minutes before hand because we want to get started on time.
If you have any trouble finding our meetup location please feel free to call before the event kicks off. Andy’s cell phone is 401-480-4503.
Look for Andy’s Green Honda Pilot with the “L.L. Bean Mansfield Outing Program” banner hanging on the side!
