What we’re about
We are a group of coed South Orange County area adults who love playing volleyball. We currently meet at the Clava in Lake Forest and Momentous in Irvine. We originally met at the Ladera Sports Center, but needed to find a new gym due to schedule conflicts with the gym.
Our game play is nothing super intense. Just adults that know how to play the game looking to get some exercise and have some fun while we are at it. We do ask for players at the intermediate and higher levels, No beginners please. It's difficult to get a consistent game play with significant mis-match in skill level and can be dangerous if you are unfamiliar with the game.
General Rules for RSVPs:
- Roll Call - Before we start playing, sign in with Paul (or other organizer) using your Meetup username so we can match it up with the RSVP list.
- Payment - When you sign in, pay the organizer cash or venmo.
- RSVP Changes - If you are RSVP'd but unable to make it, please update the app ASAP to indicate you are not going. This will automatically move the next waitlist person up. Please try to do this at least 3 hours before game time.
- No Shows - If you are still on the RSVP list at the time of game play and do not show, you will be ineligible to play the following week. Repeated no shows will result in removal from list. We hate to do this, but this rule is out of respect for those on the wait list that would love to play.
- Unregistered Players – To avoid overloading the court and causing long wait times between games, preference will be given to players that RSVP’d. If you were on the wait list or not RSVP’d, we cannot guarantee you a spot on the court. Max players allowed will be 21 (3 teams of 7)
- Limited Guests – Number of allowed guests per RSVP is +1 and must be indicated in the RSVP. If you have more players, you’ll need the other guests to set up a Meetup account and RSVP on their own.
- RSVP Window – RSVPs for events is limited to 4 weeks in advance.

Intermediate to Advanced Players ONLY!
PLAYERS:
Our group is for intermediate to high skill-leveled volleyball players. Although we are here to have fun and get exercise, for the safety and enjoyment of all players, you must be at an intermediate and/or above skill level, meaning that you can serve, pass, set and hit the ball over the net ACCURATELY AT LEAST 70% of the time AND you KNOW and FOLLOW all the basic rules and etiquette of volleyball.
Failure to meet this standard may result in your removal from the RSVP list and/or event.RSVP:
I'm going to book out through the end of the year for now. PLEASE be sure to keep your RSVP updated if your plans change so others can play. In the last few weeks we have had a LOT of no shows which is unfair to the people on the waitlist and makes it difficult to manage costs for court rental.Payment:
The fee is $10 per player. Please pay via cash or Venmo (@direct2paul) by the end of your first break. This helps me keep better track of who's paid and who has not so I can focus on playing volleyball instead of checking the RSVP list.Waiver:
