Real life "war story" of LeSS adoption at large financial institution

Details

On June 13th, we will have a pleasure to have Gordon Weir, and hear Gordon''s real-world journey to the discovery of LeSS, and a "huge" implementation - the ingredients that made it possible. Followed by an open discussion on why central "transformations" probably won't work, but with the right cookbook and mindset just might.

Over many years Gordon has led 3 LeSS Huge transformations in very large financial institutions. All the contexts and drivers for change were different, and all had their fair share of challenges. For this meet-up he will focus on the very first one. And how he and the incredible people working with him ended up discovering LeSS. He will share his “war stories”, and his view on why the end result was so successful and significant. And he will share this thoughts on “enterprise transformations” and central change initiatives. Yes, he’s led one of those too...

Note: a few weeks ago, Gordon gave a great short talk at the end of Large Scale Scrum, taught by Craig Larman.

About Gordon:
Gordon Weir has over 20 years experience in the software business, after being voted the Young Engineer of the Year in New Zealand in 1998, he left the country, and electronic engineering with the navy to work for a software house in New Jersey. He then decided that he had an interest in working on large scale software delivery so he moved to the UK and PwC Management Consultancy, followed by IBM; where he worked on numerous integration programms. In 2005 he moved to UBS where he led the delivery of the global clearing and settlement systems for the Equities business, and where he discovered Agility, and his passion for creating learning organisations that thrive on change. Since UBS he has worked at Merrill Lynch, and now has returned to the world of software product delivery with the FinTech company Noble Markets.
