What we're about

This is a community about people and organisations who want to fully achieve the benefits of agile values (and related principles, practices, frameworks) and mindset. Ideally this wants to be a safe place where you can exchange insight, concepts, suggestions, experiences and challenges.

Our values are,
Respect (self, other members of this community, the rest of the world),
Integrity (personal & professional)
Competence (demonstrable & related to Agile & Lean topics),
Experience (at all level of the organisation, at all level of skills)
can be summarized in the word RICE, food for the masses.

As in an Scrum team, the organizer (equivalent to a Scrum master) is responsible to engage the community (equivalent to the developers) and to provide the platform (equivalent to the practices) for sharing contents (equivalent to the product), the community is responsible about the content and to provide feedbacks to the organizer to make things better. The product owner is the world!

If you agree this manifesto you are invited to join and to share this community to your networks.

AI & BIG DATA Expo: Why do we need smart data not big data?

For this exceptional meetup at the AI & BIG DATA Expo we have prepared a specific event close to the matter of the expo ✨ Title: "Artificial Intelligence / Bayesian Deep Learning: why do we need smart data not big data" by Biraja Ghoshal This talk will provide an introduction to Deep Learning / Artificial Neural Network which, due to relatively recent algorithmic breakthroughs, has become an increasingly popular technique for uncertainty assessment and decision analysis. This session will provide an overview of successful applications (including medical, financial services - risk). What is common to all of these applications is that the Bayesian network models can be built using a combination of uncertainty estimation along with point prediction and (often very limited) data leveraging Active Learning. Big question is what comes after ‘big data’? We will explain why Bayesian network answer in the form of smarter decisions from smart data and causal with estimated uncertainty. ⚝ Biraja Ghoshal has 22+ years experience in Tata Consultancy Services with a focus on enabling competitive advantage through Data & Analytics driven innovation, platform modernisation, actionable intelligence and smart decision making for various customers. He holds B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) and Master of Science (Computer Science) from University of California, USA. He is pursing PhD on Uncertainty Estimation in deep learning and Active Learning. https://www.linkedin.com/in/biraja-prasad-ghoshal-a196927/ 📅 Agenda The event will be held in the Conference zone of the EXPO. You can come earlier and visit the expo together with other hundreds of people. https://www.ai-expo.net/ The talk will start at 5PM after a brief introduction. ⏰ ⏰ ⏰ ⏰ ⏰ At 6PM, after the usual Q&A session, we will close the event and we can meet outside to continue networking. ⚠ NOTE To enter in the venue and attend to the event you need to FREE register through Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/artificial-intelligence-big-data-conference-exhibition-global-2019-25-26-april-tickets-45773009303 or on EXPO website https://gateway.ai-expo.net/global/central-grid/register/ Do not forget we have a discount code ("DIGITAL20") for you Premium ticket that you can use to access this event and many others in the 2 days of the EXPO.

Value streams are made of people

🍎 ABSTRACT For millennia, human beings have survived by learning, then applying our learning to different contexts. We’re so good at it that we’re driven to find those patterns, even when they don’t exist. Our desire for the predictable suffuses everything we do; our beliefs, our behaviour and even our identity, to the point that we treat even the most complex of systems as if they might be machines too... and our language, which we use to model the world around us, reflects that. In this talk we look at the "metaphors we live by", and how we typically treat work as boxes and substances to be passed around. By breaking the boxes and considering the relationships between the people doing the work, we can see possibilities for change and improvement that we might otherwise miss, making value streams out of the people involved in them: not from the sum of their parts, but from the product of their relationships. ✨ FACILITATOR'S BIO Liz Keogh is a Lean and Agile consultant based in London.
