What we're about

Public Group

Many groups are already devoted to general dining. This is not one of them. The purpose of this group is to explore the very best food experiences to be had in the Bay Area.

Events may include the yearly truffle dinner at Oliveto (http://www.oliveto.com/), sampling the divine pesto at Farina (http://www.farina-foods.com/), lining up in the cold for pizza at Una Pizza Napoletana (http://www.unapizza.com/sf/), or going on a field trip to taste fresh oysters at Tomales Bay. If we totally run out of ideas, we might visit The French Laundry. But not before then.

Like our sister meetup Let's Cook Something Extraordinary (http://www.meetup.com/Cook-Something-Extraordinary/), this group has an Italian bent. But given that the Bay Area has some of the finest regional Italian restaurants in the country, we'd be crazy not to.

Splurging is not our goal, but extraordinary meals rarely come cheaply. And even the best restaurants can fall short of expectations. If you have a low tolerance for cost or failure, this group is probably not for you. If, on the other hand, you are open minded and deeply curious about food and cuisine, you will feel right at home.
