Relax, restore and recharge! is an ancient Japanese spiritual healing technique that promotes stress reduction and relaxation. It is based on the concept that a life force energy flows through all of us and is what keeps us alive and healthy. Reiki is a gentle, subtle, but effective form of energy-work. It is used to restore the smooth flow of energy through our system, revitalizing us and encouraging our bodies to heal. As Reiki is an entirely energy-based therapy, there is no manipulation of the body as in massage but hands are placed on the client in specific positions. It can be carried out without direct hands-on however, if preferred. Though each person’s reiki experience is unique, many clients report having a feeling of being centered and balanced, or a state of meditative bliss. Reiki is a holistic treatment, affecting the entire person including the physical body, emotions, mind and spirit. Often feelings of peace, warmth, relaxation, security and well-being are experienced. Benefits of Treatment With regular Reiki treatments energy blockages are cleared and our life force energy or ‘ki’ is increased. Some of the many healing properties of Reiki that have been reported include: • Releasing of tension and anxiety; deep relaxation • Relieves insomnia • Supports immune system and reduces blood pressure • Assists the body to clear toxins, negative emotions • Helps manage/relieve pain • Adjusts the energy flow of the endocrine system bringing the body into equilibrium • Reduces some of the side effects of drugs and helps the body to recover from surgery and chemotherapy • Helps deal with emotional and mental issues, such as depression & trauma • Promotes physical healing and increases vitality • Aids in overcoming addiction • Can assist with acute injuries and chronic problems • Focuses on underlying causes of illnesses $15.00 at the door
Book Launch & Reading Chalker’s Pub, 247 Marlee Ave, Sunday, March 31st at 2:30 pm David Mills reads from his hilarious new book. Enjoy an afternoon of Comedy, Comradery … and FREE appetizers! David J. Mills was a member of Single Horizons (from which this group grew from) for many years, joining back in 2001, until meeting Carmelitta Scambia - another SH member. Before, during and since that time, he has been writing and working on a comedy novel which has now come to fruition. And been completed and published! A year ago, he set up his own website (davidjmillswriter.com) which showcases the variety of his writing (poems, short stories, articles) and offers excerpts from this novel - "Of Hearts and Livers". It also includes his list of favourite comedy books and some shameless self-promoting. A novel called “Of Hearts and Livers” (because all great works of literature start with prepositions). It is a tender love story of a shy and awkward young man smitten with a beautiful young blonde who has an inexplicable love for Zamfir. (This is a link to his version of “The Rose”.) He fakes an interest in the music and everything else she likes, and turns his life upside down for her. Things become even more complicated when another girl enters his life. David will be available to sign the book for anyone interested in picking up a copy. Come and enjoy Carmelitta's session on Reiki at 12:30pm and stay on for the book reading or just come for the book launch! https://davidjmillswriter.com/
