Free The Mind - Movie at The Little

This is documentary film about mindfulness meditation. FREE THE MIND, that is screening in Rochester’s The Little Theatre for one night only - Sunday, March 9th at 1PM! Last month's screening at The Little was sold out and the theatre had to turn people away, so we recommend booking tickets in advance or turning up early. FREE THE MIND concentrates on the ground-breaking experimental treatment of mental disorders through mindfulness meditation. The film focuses on the struggles of American war veterans suffering from PTSD and children with behavioral difficulties, tracking their strenuous lives and gradual improvement through mindfulness meditation training and breathing exercises. Please find the trailer & more info below. Please help us spread the word about this mindfulness event by letting your members know and putting it on your newsletter, email blast and social media. Group discount tickets are also available! Davidson, one of the world’s leading neuroscientists, met the Dalai Lama who encouraged him to apply the same rigorous methods he used to study depression and anxiety to the study of compassion and kindness. Dr. Davidson, who was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2006, did just that, and the results of his studies at the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds are portrayed in this fascinating new documentary about the science behind meditation. The film poses two questions: What is consciousness and how does it manifest in the brain and body? And is it actually possible to change the brain physically through mental practices alone?
