About us

Greetings Everyone!

Founded in 2006, this group was created by Canadians for Expat Canadians, their friends, those who have lived in or are planning on heading to Canada or are interested in The Great White North!  Having a membership of over 3000 members, we are one of the largest active Canadian ex-pat Meetup groups in the world.  We meet on a regular basis, before the Covid-19 pandemic we would meet as a group in person at least three times a month, now we are meeting online on a weekly basis.  Should anyone have a suggestion for an event or activity feel free to email the leadership team and we can sort it out!  We look forward to seeing many new and old faces at our next meet-up!

🇨🇦 Join “Meetup in Motion... Finish It!!” for the Terry Fox Run UK 2026 🇨🇦

Dear Members,
This September, The London Expat Canadian Meetup Group is proud to come together for one of Canada's most inspiring traditions, the Terry Fox Run.

We invite you to join our team:
🇨🇦 Meetup in Motion... Finish It!! 🇨🇦
Whether you're Canadian, an honourary Canadian, or simply a friend of Canada inspired by Terry Fox and his extraordinary Marathon of Hope, we'd love to have you join us as we walk, run, and come together to support life-saving cancer research.
In 2025, more than 2,000 participants across the UK raised over £110,000 for The Institute of Cancer Research. This year, we want to bring our Meetup community together and do our part to carry Terry's mission forward.

You don't need to be a runner. The Terry Fox Run is about participation, community, and continuing what Terry started. Walk it, run it, bring your friends and family, and be part of something truly special.

🍁 Meet and reconnect with fellow Canadians and friends of Canada
🇨🇦 Represent London's Canadian community
🍁 Support vital, life-saving cancer research
🇨🇦 Take part in one of Canada's most meaningful traditions
🍁 Help Meetup in Motion... Finish It!! Make a difference
Terry Started It. Let's Finish It.

There are two important steps to join us:

STEP 1: Join our “Meetup in Motion... Finish It!!” fundraising team:

STEP 2: Register separately for the London Terry Fox Run:

Important: Joining our fundraising team does not automatically register you for the Run. Please make sure you complete both steps.
We'll be sharing more information about our team, our meeting point, and plans for the day as we get closer to September.

For nearly 20 years, The London Expat Canadian Meetup Group has been bringing Canadians, honourary Canadians and friends of Canada together in London. This September, let's bring that same community spirit to the Terry Fox Run.
Terry began his Marathon of Hope with an extraordinary dream. More than four decades later, it's up to all of us to keep that dream moving forward.

🇨🇦 Terry Started It. Let's Finish It. 🇨🇦

We hope you'll join Meetup in Motion... Finish It!! and be part of it with us.

Best wishes,
