What we’re about
This is LoDEIG, where Data Engineering is about more than just software engineering for data platforms.
Yes, we are interested in how to work with data in a Test Driven, Agile, Lean and otherwise awesome ways. We want to make data systems robust, scalable and easy to operate - maybe even turn them into just another boring piece of the IT infrastructure. Before that can happen we need to find out more about what today’s data technologies do and don’t do, where they break and how they fit together.
We are also interested in the data we process. How does it get to us? In what ways is it complete, accurate, representative and inclusive? What pressures and perceptions may cause it not to be? Some of these issues may be susceptible to technical solutions, some may need legal or social solutions. We are definitely interested in how to separate these classes of issues from each other.
