Details

Please join the London DevOps community at a special free meetup event organised in partnership with Facebook. We will have two talks on the night, a panel session, and refreshments and food will also be provided.

This is a once-yearly event, portions of which will not be recorded, and spaces will fill up fast, so please ensure you sign up here on Eventbrite as soon as possible.

There is a waitlist available on Eventbrite. Please sign up there. Do not add yourself to the waitlist here on meetup.com:

LogDevice: A file structured log system - Ahmed Soliman

Ahmed will be talking about LogDevice, a distributed data storage system designed at Facebook to store and delivered ordered sequence of immutable records at Facebook scale.

Ahmed is a production engineer working on LogDevice in Facebook's London office since 2015.

Silicon, not Sand - Aubrey Stearn

A fireside chat about ChatOps, why the Dev in Ops is so important, why writing code not only gives you superpowers but is totally necessary to operate in the DevOps space, some of the great things we’ve done at Arcadia and some of grows we’ve experienced.

Aubrey ran DevOps teams at Pizza Hut, and is now at Arcadia.
Panel Session - Culture issues around DevOps

A panel session will close the evening, with an open discussion around cultural issues in DevOps and how to make the best of them. Our speakers, other Facebook engineers, and London DevOps organisers will participate in what is likely to be a lively open discussion.
Thanks

Many thanks to Facebook for sponsoring the event.

Thanks also to our other sponsors Prism Digital and Adaptavist for invaluable help and support in organising this event.

You will need to show photo ID at the venue, so the name you sign up with must match your ID. Also please note that Facebook have moved offices since our last event there, so don't go to the same place as last year!
