Cube Functions in Excel | Mike Thomas

In this London Excel Meetup, we welcome Mike Thomas to present on the Cube Functions in Excel.

We hear a lot about the benefits of storing your list-based data in Excel's Data Model instead of in worksheet cells. Most of those benefits revolve around how much data you can store, how much space you can save and how much easier it is to create Pivot Tables from multiple data sources.

However, another, not-so-well-documented benefit of storing your data in the Data Model is that by using special functions, known as CUBE Functions, you can retrieve data directly from the Data Model and store it in worksheet cells.

Mike Thomas has worked in the IT training business since 1989. He is a subject matter expert in a range of technologies, his primary focus and passion being Microsoft Office, especially Excel

In 2012 Mike founded https://theexceltrainer.co.uk where he has produced nearly 200 written and video-based Excel tutorials.

He has recorded several Excel training courses for pluralsight.com and in his career delivered hundreds of courses and webinars on a wide variety of technology-related topics.

Mike is a Fellow of The Learning and Performance Institute and has worked with and for a large number of global and UK-based companies and organizations across a diverse range of sectors.

In addition to training, he also designs and develops Microsoft Office-based solutions that automate key business tasks and processes.
