What we're about

Welcome to the London LGBTQ+ Club.

FOLLOWING A VERY LONG HAITUS CAUSED BY THE PANDEMIC. DINNER CLUB WILL BE RESUMING THIS SEPTEMBER. DETAILS OF OUR FORST MEAL WILL BE PUBLISHED VERY SOON.

We are a friendly group that welcomes everyone regardless of where you are on the spectrum on sexuality or gender identity and expression.

The group was founded by Ian Newman who ran the successful London Gay Men's Dinner Club for eight years and the same warmth and welcome that that group was known for is now reaching out to all in the LGBTQ+ community.

We will meet once a month to go for dinner at a restaurant in London. We will meet for pre-dinner drinks first before heading to that month's chosen restaurant. There may be months where we have a social gathering at a pub/bar but generally we will be meeting to go out for food. Restaurant recommendations are always welcome.

The aim of the group is to meet and make new friends and be a welcoming, friendly and inclusive group of LGBTQ+ peoole.

The one rule for dinner is that we split the bill by how many attend. This avoids awkwardness and (from years of experience) the tricky task of figuring out individual amounts. If you do not agree with this, then please do not sign-up for events.

Keep an eye out for events as they are announced on Meetup. It will be great to welcome you and any friends you have to the group.

Saturday night's alright for dining!

May’s Dinner Club sees us venture from our usual Friday evening dinner to a Saturday. It also sees us eating out at a new restaurant for us - the rather lovely Mele e Pete for an Italian flavoured feast.

Independent and family-run, we opened Mele e Pere in the heart of Soho in February 2012.
We are three brothers and a friend who set out on a journey to create a genuine neighbourhood Trattoria reminiscent of the fabulous family-run places of northern Italy, where we all grew up.
You should feel just as comfortable popping in for a glass of home-made vermouth and some sharing plates at the bar as you should taking your time to work through the menu in the dining room.
We cook our seasonal menu with British produce and exceptional Italian ingredients. All of our pasta, pizza, desserts and ice-creams are made in our kitchen fresh every day. We have London’s largest selection of Vermouths behind our bar and our exclusively Italian wine list has loads of options for you available by the glass and carafe.

You can find out more about this wonderful restaurant and view their menu by visiting their website.

Our Saturday evening in Soho will begin at 5.30pm at Village Soho on Wardour Street, where you are welcome to come and enjoy a pre-dinner drink or two before we walk down to the restaurant for dinner at 7pm.

Dinner Club is a great way to meet new people, engage in conversation and enjoy a delicious meal. We always split the bill - there are no exceptions to this. If you would like to come along, you’ll need to RSVP and pay the £11 deposit. This includes £10 which will go towards the final bill and £1 that covers PayPal and Meetup admin fees.

And, if you wish, we always head off to a bar after dinner to continue the conversation and connection. Everyone is welcome to join this part of the evening.

RSVP as soon as you can as spaces are strictly limited for this rare Saturday night outing!

Belated 10th anniversary social drinks

Needs a location

Dinner Club is 11 years old. However, due to the pandemic, we missed-out celebrating our 10th anniversary last year - so we will remedy that with an evening social gathering.
Dinner Club started as a monthly social for gay men and was organised through a website called Outeverywhere. A few years later, the organisation of the group moved to Meetup where the membership soared and events were much easier to organise. Three years ago, the group was renamed and relaunched to be more inclusive of the wonderful LGBTQ+ community we are a part of.
Whilst some things have changed about the group over the years, the purpose of the group has not - which is to bring people together in the spirit of friendship, comradery and unity. Whilst we do enjoy eating out and have visited many fine and (very rarely) not so fine restaurants - the main focus is on providing a space to meet and connect with others and make new friends.
So, to celebrate - we have a room reserved for us at Village Soho from 6pm on Friday 17th May.

Rather than then go for a meal, this is where we will stay for the evening where we can meet and mingle and celebrate Dinner Club's 10 years of bringing people together.
If you would like to attend - you do need to RSVP. There is no fee for this event but I do ask that if you do RSVP 'attending' and your plans change - you change your RSVP to 'not attending'. You are welcome to bring a couple of guests, but please indicate this on your RSVP.
This will be a great chance to come along for the first time and meet regular attendees and also a great chance to come along again, if it has been a while since you have been to the group.
It will be great to see you.
