Join the London Drawing Meet Up Group to hear about some of the best life drawing sessions in London. Join us for drop in sessions, Saturday workshops, courses, summer schools and very special life drawing events across the capital. Expect professional tutors and models in interesting spaces for conventional life drawing sessions, as well as completely unique creative life drawing events in significant venues across the city such as the Museum Of London, Battersea Arts Centre, The V&A and Design Museum. All our sessions welcome all levels of ability.

TUESDAY STUDIO: COVENT GARDEN DROP IN LIFE DRAWING

Our Covent Garden space is beautifully spacious and airy – with lovely high ceilings and light- a fantastic venue to add to our portfolio which we hope you will love
As with all our drop in classes- expect professional tutors and models in an inspiring and unique space. With poses from 30 seconds to one hour- there is something for everyone. This is a general life drawing class with tuition for beginners and advice for those who are more experienced, all designed to encourage you to develop your own style and approach.

THE QUIET PORTRAIT- PAINTING GWEN JOHN STYLE WITH LAURA SMITH – 3 OCTOBER 2026
Artizan Street Library & Community Centre, 1 Artizan St, London E1 7AF, UK, London, GBOctober is PORTRAIT MONTH at London Drawing! We are excited to present 5 Saturdays of portrait with 5 different artist using a range of mediums and approaches with a program of inspiring models:
Explore the power of Quiet Portrait with the brilliant Laura Smith!
Using the great Gwen John as our inspiration we will work though portrait using expressive painting techniques, exploring emotion through brushwork and colour. We will work with a muted harmonious palette of colours to create subtle tones and combinations to explore light and tone in your painting, touching on basic colour theory. Our models will wear costumes, working with poses and props to create simple narratives and imagery. We will consider colour and expressive brushwork to build character and emotional depth in your portraits.
This workshop is packed full of practical tips to create strong, confident drawing and painting- with loads of tuition and demonstrations to show you how to get started. You will learn everything you need to know about working from the portrait model in oils and acrylics ..
