Tell your Java story!

Hi all,

The recent thread coincides nicely with what Bruno is up to!

Subject: [jug-leaders] Tell your Java story!
To: JUG Leaders

Based in an article we published a couple of years ago, me and Java
Champion Fabiane Nardon
were invited to do a presentation about The History of Java in the
TDC'2012 conference in Brazil
next week.

Yes, we'll talk about the Green Project, and we'll mention James
Gosling, and Sun, and Oracle...
But, this is the story everyone knows about...

In the article, we were able to mix the "official" history of Java
with several developer's stories of
their relationship with the technology. Personal stories, fun facts,
professional successes, people
they met and projects they did. We would like to do the same thing in
the talk, but on a broader
scale.

After all, YOU made Java what it is! Would you be interested in
helping us telling this multi-faceted
story of the Java technology? Would you share one small snippet (or
two, or five...) about things
that happened, experiences that you had? How you started? A great
event you participated?
How your JUG was created? Your first learning Java experience, or
maybe the first time you
showed Java to someone? The first time you saw Duke or Juggy? Maybe
the time you _were_
Duke? :-)

If you would like to share, please fill out this google form here:

       http://jav.mn/you...

You can fill it out as many times as you like. Maybe you can add
several short stories
about you and Java? We'll try to stitch those stories together, in a
good narrative, showing
the story of Java as it really is: a mesh of millions of stories of each of us.

Thanks!
Bruno.
