This WILL sell out. (seats almost gone) A $20+ donation - 100% to the band - will be collected at the door. If you can't afford $20, there are a couple volunteer spots which are about an hour of setup/teardown/cleanup either before or after the music.
Rail House concert history is repeating itself in a wonderful way!
First, we'll get a nice little opener set from Kevin Dooley! Then.....
From acoustic roots to jazz, bluegrass & classical fusion.. The Flinner Trio plays at a level the rest of us only get to dream about. They are also laid-back, approachable, and the nicest guys you'll ever meet. All highly regarded teachers (see their websites).
Of COURSE you should bring your music and plan to pick! There will be a record number of mando cases for sure, and we're down for a late-night after-pick!
Rail potlucks got to be apart of a couple different Music Du Jour tours where they wrote a new song each day to perform that night! Here's a collection of some of the songs they came up with during that time: https://open.spotify.com/album/4MSaI2jbVgNvoz6N2XeJyZ
Matt Flinner
http://www.mattflinner.com
Matt is one of the world's premier mandolin players with amazing unique skill, taste, tone, and speed. He's a Winfield winner at both banjo and mandolin. Every time these guys have played one of my potlucks (going back many years!) the mandolin geeks travel from far and wide (picture a STACK of luthier crafted mandolins in the corner and the after-pick!)
"He has toured and recorded with a wide variety of bluegrass, new acoustic, classical and jazz artists, including Tim O’Brien, Frank Vignola, Steve Martin, Darrell Scott, the Modern Mandolin Quartet, Dave Douglas, Leftover Salmon, Alison Brown, The Ying Quartet, Tony Trischka, Darol Anger, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, toured as part of Phillips, Grier and Flinner..
Ross Martin

Ross is an OVER THE TOP flatpicker. His super connected, soulful style is one of giant beauty, amazing tone, and capable of high speed. On top of that, Ross's smile is one you'll never forget. It's clear he loves to play for a room of listeners. Ross lives in New York City, where you can arrange for a private guitar lesson you'll never forget. "His musical path has covered as much territory as his physical one. Reflecting his love of diverse genres like jazz, bluegrass, country, folk, experimental, & classical music.. He has toured and performed with a wide range of artists including Matt Flinner, Tony Furtado, Ron Miles, Mollie O’Brien, The Motet, Caroline Herring, Dwele, Sonya Kitchell, and many others."
Eric Thorin
https://ericthorin.com/
Eric is one of our Colorado musical treasures, based in Lyons Colorado. His kindness & bass playing are second to none. He's also an accomplished trombone and tuba player. (Can we convince him to bring one of those since he won't have to put 'em on a plane?) He's produced, performed, & recorded with Open Road Bluegrass Band, Tony Furtado, 30db & Hamster Theater & performed with Tim O’Brien, Darrell Scott, salsa maestro Eddie Santiago, Billy Eckstine, Ronnie Bedford, Chuck Lamb, Tony Trishka, Danny Barnes, Drew Emmitt Band... He teaches privately & in camps & workshops around the world: Rockygrass, Sorefingers (UK), Yellowstone Jazz Camp, Grand Targhee Music Academy, Augusta Heritage Center, Nimblefingers Sorrento (BC, Canada)..
