Apache HBase 0.98 by Andrew Purtell of Intel/Apache

Details
Abstract:
As more organizations are faced with Big Data challenges, Apache HBase is increasingly found in roles formerly occupied by traditional data management solutions, gaining new users with new perspectives and requirements and challenges. Some of those users have a strong interest in security. This talk will introduce Apache HBase for the unfamiliar, and then discuss how the latest release, 0.98, helps meet those challenges. We will also discuss likely future directions for HBase on the road to version 1.0.
Bio:
Andrew is a long time Hadoop user (since 2007) and HBase committer and PMC (since 2008), currently a Principal Architect in Intel's Big Data Research and Development team leading HBase development efforts there.
