MRACX Hiking focuses on hiking and walking activities. We offer moderate to brisk paced hikes, nordic pole clinics, and hiking and yoga combos. Please be sure to read the description of the event to ensure the pace and terrain challenge is at the appropriate level for you.

MRACX has 3 meetup groups that when combined is your alternative to the gym and your outdoor fitness and social club. Our goal is to promote fitness, health and wellness, and to build personal and community relationships. MRACX Hiking, MRACX MultiSport and MRACX Social will deliver workouts that are fun, creative and unique and provide opportunities to meet and connect with like-minded people.

Events are designed to be easily accessible all across the city of Toronto. Occasionally, out of town experiences will also be offered. Activities and events are posted all year round so you will never be left without something to do! 

Events offered will vary and be seasonally appropriate.

At different times of the year we do require participants to have certain equipment that will ensure they stay safe on the trails. Namely, microspikes/traction aids in the winter and hiking shoes with a deep tread and good ankle support all throughout the year. For night hikes, headlamps/flashlights will also be required.  

MRACX MultiSport provides different sporting events like ultimate frisbee, soccer, baseball, tennis, water sports, dodgeball, bootcamps, yoga, beach volleyball, cricket, rock climbing, cycling and so much more. MRACX Social provides unique social events to bring people together to have some fun. Activities like picnics in the park, pub crawls, holiday celebrations, photography walks, history walking tours, unique dining experiences and casual get-togethers allow members the chance to mingle and get to know each other. Please ensure you show up a few minutes early to each event so they can start on time. 

The goal of MRACX is to provide a one-stop shop for health. We are building relationships with health professionals (chiropractors, naturopaths, podiatrists, massage therapists, nutritionists, etc) and fitness professionals (yoga instructors, fitness trainers, nordic pole instructors, etc) to offer you a well-rounded choice of healthy lifestyle options.  

Lorrie Parrott - Organizer and owner of MRACX is certified as a fitness trainer, nordic pole instructor and yoga instructor. She is also working on a certification in barre and pilates as well as sports nutrition. Her passion is healthy living and wants to share that passion with others in a fun way that will engage you and help you stick to your fitness goals.  

MRACX is conscious to ensure that activities offered are affordable and accessible to all. Most events have a fee of $2, although, where certified fitness professionals are conducting classes, fees will be higher, but still affordable and cheaper than a gym membership. Most fees can be paid in person at the event, although you can visit the website to purchase pre-paid event passes if that is more convenient.  Events that require venues (rock climbing, camping, laser tag, museums, horseback riding etc) will be priced according to the venue and will be out of MRACX's control. Fees collected are to cover overhead costs such as Meetup Fees, website fees and equipment costs.

Please note that we do require members to remove their name from an event 48 hours in advance of the start time if you discover you cannot make it. This allows those on the waitlist an opportunity to join and prepare for the event. A habit of failing to remove your name from an event 48 hours in advance may result in your expulsion from the group.
