Presentation on iOS Midi/Synthesis

Join us for a presentation on iOS MIDI / Synthesis from Joel May!

First, we'll talk about what a software synthesizer is: how it stitches together audio samples to play any instrument at any pitch.

Then we'll implement a minimal-UI software synth on Mac and IOS (crossplatform!) using the AUSampler Audio Unit. We'll examine the code.

Then we'll talk about SoundFont files and aupreset files -- where you can get them, how you can make your own.
