Join us on May 1st for an encore presentation of Jennifer Javornik's Grace Hopper Celebration 2018 talk: "Taking Grace Hopper Digital: Designing VR Experiences with Real-World Impact".

Learn more about the virtual reality game "Breaking Boundaries in Science" (http://www.filamentgames.com/breaking-boundaries-in-science), an immersive mobile VR app that celebrates some of history’s most influential women in science: Grace Hopper, Marie Curie, and Jane Goodall. Drawing from primary sources, Breaking Boundaries elevates these women’s stories in contemporary media, emphasizing biographical details like their work environments and personal artifacts in order to fully flesh out the player’s understanding of their lives and achievements. The game even features the voice talent of Dr. Jane Goodall herself!

Networking at 6:15pm, followed by the presentation at 6:30. Afterwards, we'll raffle off a Grace Hopper Celebration travel mug and get hands on time with a demo of the Breaking Boundaries experience!!

Jennifer Javornik is the vice president of sales at Filament Games (http://www.filamentgames.com/) in Madison and the director of the Wisconsin Games Alliance (http://www.wisconsingamesalliance.com/). A former improv comedian, she is also the author of The STEM Mom Series, books for children featuring the lives of moms with STEM careers.

Parking is available in the brand new Livingston Street Ramp behind the building, or there are several bus lines that run down and drop off on E. Wash.
