You will need to put in a few more hours of time on your own in order to get comfortable and understand the inner workings of the Laser Cutter

This tour takes about 45 minutes. Please be on time and ring the doorbell when you arrive.

Tuesday nights in the Makespace Classroom are Raspberry Pi, Arduino/Micro-controllers and CAD Club meet-ups. Come and join fellow coding and computer aided design enthusiasts for an informal evening of tinkering with tech. Help is on hand to assist you with any problems.
Bring along a project you're working on, or join in with whatever else is going on. We typically have a regular group of Raspberry Pi and Pico experts to help you if you need it. SOLIDWORKS and FreeCAD help is also on hand.

As part of the regular CAD Club at Makespace, this week member Michael Dales will be giving a talk about CAD design and 3D-printing a guitar.

We will take a look at Älgen, a custom built guitar that is a fusion of traditional hand-crafted wood-work and advanced 3D-printing, using no less than 4 different types of print for different parts, some of which were done in Makespace and some custom ordered elsewhere.

In the talk we'll go into detail on several of the printed parts, looking at what the requirements were, how they were designed in CAD, and then how the final product turned out.

This talk is open to non-members. Please ring the 'CAD Club' doorbell and the host will let you in.

Equipment training at Makespace is now split into an online course and a practical session. See https://web.makespace.org/red-equipment-training for more info. This is the practical for 3D Printers.

You must have completed the online training course and achieved full marks in both the Safety Quiz and the 3D Printer Quiz before signing up for this session. When you have completed both quizzes, join the waitlist and the trainer will admit you to the session once they have confirmed your quiz results. Please don't join the waitlist until you have passed the quizzes.

In this session, you'll get hands on with our 3D Printers. Guided by your trainer, you'll put into practice all that you've learned in the online course with opportunities to ask questions. Your trainer will assess your ability to use the 3D Printers competently and safely. There is a video in the online training which gives a full demo on how to use the printers and the skills you will need to demonstrate in the assessment. This demo will not be repeated in the session, you should watch that video before the session.

We encourage you to arrive early, so that you have time to log in and be ready before 2p.m. and to have a chat.

2. Joined the wait list with the code given at the See the Space
3. Ensured that you have your Google email account credentials and two factor authentication ready with you. You will use our computers to complete your induction on a Google form.
4. Made your payment. Please do this on the morning of your induction.

Note:

• Your own computer or mobile phone cannot be used for the induction
• After the induction (which takes a little over 2 hours) you will be a full member of Makespace. Your key-fob will be enabled, giving you 24-hour access.
• If you cannot make your induction, please cancel well in advance, cancelling late means that others do not have time to get to the induction.

This is a in person event in the Makespace classroom, where we can work on projects, have access to the tools and equipment Makespace has to offer (some equipment is restricted to Makespace members), show off projects, chat about any issues with your build and get general advice about robotics.
Robot club is for beginners to pros, all you need is a love of robots. If you have a robot, please bring it along to work on or show.

Please Note: all children must be always accompanied by a responsible adult!
