Join us in Makespace in advance of the Open Technology Workshop (http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/open-technology-workshop-2015-tickets-17526776059) on 26 July to work in teams on projects that use open technologies to craft and build things for better science, research and education.

Some ideas so far:
• Citizen science meets civic engagement: building water quality sensors to test in the Cam.
• DIY Biolab: join the open labware team making tools for molecular biology.
• ContentMining for species: find and map mentions of your favourite species in scientific papers.
Bring your hardware, software, project ideas or simply enthusiasm with you! People of all ages with lots and no experience welcome.
Programme
10:00 - 11:00 Mingling and intro talks (who are you? what would you like to learn?)
11:00 - 13:00 Making things
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch (BYO or £5 contribution for buffet lunch)
14:00 - 16:00 More making things!
16:00 - 17:00 Demos and collective pat on the back
