Murder Club is the monthly meet-up perfect for you true crime fans. We look at murder cases both unsolved and solved and discuss our own theories on who we think did it, or why we think they did it. We're a discussion group, this is your time to be a detective!
You'll see famous cases from history, and also some lesser known ones too. We also run other social events like our Murder House meet-up and we also host screenings of crime related movies.
We're a very friendly bunch so don't be afraid to join us.
The discussion we have will include graphic and gory details, so if you are sensitive to those things, this place is probably not for you.
This year’s Halloween social we will delve into how serial killers in are depicted in fiction,
The Chesapeake Ripper
Dr Hannibal Lecter, also known as Hannibal the Cannibal, was born a noble of Lithuania in 1933. Hannibal witnessed his younger sisters murder and cannibalization. Do you see any red flags yet? Do you see them?
Psychologists and psychiatrists disagree if Hannibal is a psychopath, a sociopath or something new that there is no correct diagnosis for. But what do you think?
While Hannibal treats most individuals with distastes, he was recorded as showing a certain fondness for trainee FBI agent Clarice Starling, later a special agent.
The Jigsaw Killer
On the face of it, John Kramer, was a very normal average individual. However, things go wrong when his wife miscarries their 1st child and they separate, a mishandled brain scan later reveals he has terminal cancer.
After surviving an attempted suicide, John feels a renewed gratitude for life. His new moral code leads him to test other who are "missing" something from their lives by placing them in "live or die" games. John does not consider himself a murderer as he finds murder distasteful. The individual is always given a choice.
Unfortunately, John acquire apprentices, such as Amanda Young, who don't always set games which are survivable. Even from beyond John's own grave, the games continue and those apprentices who don't follow his moral code become tested again themselves.
