He also has a BASc in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo with a minor in Cognitive Science. He has worked in startups, a large Silicon Valley law firm and in government, in various technical, legal and business roles. His interests in data science include natural language processing and data-driven investigations. Jeff’s final project at Metis is a follow-up to a previous project—an analysis that uncovered 1.3 million likely fake comments in the public record on net neutrality. His report was cited in publications such as the Washington Post, Fortune and engadget and he has appeared as a guest on the radio programs Science Friday and the KCBS Morning News to discuss his work.

Daniel Friedman previously worked for Tesla and Boosted before joining the Metis Summer Cohort of 2017. He now works as a data scientist for TargetX.
