Treasure Store and Holiday Party for Refugee Communities

Hope Communities is an affordable housing nonprofit that each year hosts an annual holiday party at every property. Parents are able to select new, donated toys for their children free of charge, and enjoy a family-friendly party with their neighbors.

Volunteers will assist in arranging donated toys into appropriate age groups, helping parents to shop, keeping children out of the toy shopping area, monitoring various activity stations for children (such as face paint and crafts), and taking pictures of the children with Santa. Volunteers will assist in clean up at the end of the event as well.

This property includes mostly refugee families as residents (from Burma/Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, and more – there are over 25 languages spoken at this location).
