This month we return online after the summer hols with our 28th meetup and we're going to be joined by UK podcasting royalty in the guise of Olly Mann!
Olly is popping along to chat about his career in podcasting, how the medium has changed over the years and give us his best tips for podcast success.
😎About Olly
Olly has been a podcaster for over 15 years and currently hosts 6 different podcasts including monthly magazine show 'The Modern Mann', current affairs show 'The Week Unwrapped' and daily popular history series 'The Retrospectors'.
But perhaps Olly is most well known for his partnership with Helen Zaltzman on the award winning comedy podcast 'Answer Me This!'
Olly has also worked in radio for the BBC, LBC, Magic and more.
🗣 WHAT IS MIC'S PODCAST CLUB?
MIC's (virtual) Podcast Club is a space for podcasters to get advice from each other, chew the fat and be amongst your tribe for a couple of hours a month.
The virtual aspect means that YOU CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE!
MIC's Podcast Club is a free-for-all QnA asked and answered by the community there on the night. All designed to help you make awesome podcasts. We also invite the odd special guest!
We've covered loads of useful stuff like sponsorship, media coverage, mailing lists, trailers, social media, remote recording, audiograms, microphones, growing your audience, "shortcasts" and rating and reviews. We sometimes have guests in to talk podcasts too, just this year we've had Brown Girls Do It Too, Obsessed with...Line of Duty and BBC Sounds.
Podcast Club is a proper helpful and a top place to come as someone that makes podcasts.
Don't just take our work for it, in April Leah and Nic from the British Podcast Award nominated podcast the VO Social came to talk about how small-scale podcasts can get sponsored.
