Build the Right Thing: Effective User Interviews
Join us on October 2nd for an interactive, hands on presentation! An important variable in the success of any agile project is the quality of the inputs to the project. Where did the requirements come from? What makes the effort viable for the organization funding the work? How does viability relate to feasibility, and is the outcome something that people find desirable, and why? User Interviews are an effective tool that can answer these questions, test assumptions, discover why, validate prototypes, and drive divergent thinking. About the Speakers: Cobbie Behrend is the founder of Adaptive Patterns. After writing software and leading software teams across various industries for 15 years, Cobbie immersed himself in the history of design, design thinking, and qualitative research methods. He saw first hand how focused qualitative research directed by experts leads to insights beyond the reach of surveys and casual conversation. As customer experiences become more critical, and problems become more complex, it is Cobbie’s passion to help others find success using qualitative research. Ben Abbott has passion for product. He spent 3 years in the K-12 educational space building enterprise software products that school districts used to run their business, and now he is tackling new problems in helping to build software products for property and casualty insurance carriers across the world. Ben loves talking product management and immersing himself into his users’ daily workflows to identify their pain points.
