Lee Metcalf Birding and Hiking
Please join Linda and Roger Holtom at the Lee-Metcalf Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, October 6, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. We will set up our scope along the main road for waterfowl viewing. Depending on the abundance (or lack thereof) of migrating birds, we can spend most of the time around the lake area or we can do some hiking at the refuge. PLEASE NOTE: The wildlife office is not open on weekends; so toilet facilities are limited to the “permanent porti-potties” that the mail road passes before the road reaches the ponds. At noon, we will head into Stevi to quaff a few at the brewery and have lunch. The brewery doesn’t serve food; but there is a burrito place across the street (at least the last time we were there) and you can bring your own food. Should make for a fun fall outing! See you there.
