We seem to not make it out of California much as there is so much here.
There are ALSO amazing places close by that are not in the state
Red Rock National Conservation Area and Valley of Fire are two of them in neighboring Nevada.

This event is tent camping (not RV or Van). You do need to provide your own gear and food. (more on that down below). We are staying outside of Red Rock on a private non-federal, non-blm site.
This is flexible arrive and depart. We have the site from Thurs to Mon. You can stay Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun night if you wish. OR you can just do the weekend. It's up to you.
BOTH Valley of Fire and Red Rock Nat Rec Area are MISERABLE in SUMMER and in WINTER.
Summer it roasty toasty. And winter is super cold at night (and winds).
We have parked a time to go that is goldilocks weather. After the winter and before the roast.

What if I have a +1 or +whatever? Cost is Per Person. Just do the payment link a 2nd or 3rd time.
Our events always fill up. And with lower limit . . . it will fill faster.
Dogs and Kids totally OK.
What if I stay two nights. Is it less? No. But since we have for Sun night you can stay as late as you want on Sunday before packing up. It gives us flexibility. Why not stay till Mon?
