Cloud Foundry has been one of the most popular open source projects since its launch over five years ago. The Cloud Foundry Foundation, 40% of whose membership consists of end-user companies like Home Depot and American Airlines, now states that over 50% of Fortune 500 companies have adopted it. In this talk, Mark Carlson, who leads the Cloud Native Solutions team for global systems integrator CGI, will provide an overview of how his customers are using Cloud Foundry in production. He will also describe how it actually supports multiple on-premise and public cloud providers using Bosh and how the recently announced support for Kubernetes in a new “container runtime” can help customers match their application workloads to the right level of abstraction. Mark Carlson is a Vice President of Consulting Services for CGI’s Denver office. Prior to joining CGI, Mark was the CTO of ECS Team who merged with CGI earlier this year. His role at CGi takes him all over North America and Europe talking to large enterprise customers and government agencies about leveraging cloud platforms like Cloud Foundry to modernize application development. Mark and family have lived in Evergreen, Colorado for over 20 years.
