Imagine a Day without Water: A Panel Discussion of Durham's Water

Details
Imagine a day without water. No water to drink, or even to make coffee with. No water to shower, flush the toilet, or do laundry. As part of this national celebration, come to a discussion of availability, quality, and access to water, seen through the lens of our local water.
Panelists include:
- Jane Korest (Durham County) -- Protecting the watersheds
- Vicki Westbrook (Durham Water Management) – Durham’s Water Supply (brief history, availability, quality – to include update on recent lead testing results)
- Durham Engineer TBD (DWM) – Durham Water infrastructure, improvements
- Jeff Hughes (UNC Environmental Finance Center) -- Pricing, access and equity
Bring your best water bottle. The person with the coolest bottle -- based on environmental message, artistic merit and overall one-of-a-kindness -- gets to take home any left-over cookies!
Street-side parking near the Nicholas School is free on evenings, and there is also a small lot across from Grainger Hall where there are metered spots (also be free in the evenings). The bigger visitor lot that is close to the Bryan Center/Chapel is a 5 minute walk from the Bryan Center Parking Garage to Grainger Hall.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Co-sponsored by Durham City Water and the Duke Water Network at the Nicholas School of the Environment.
