This month, we're kicking off the year with some AI goodness courtesy of Jordan Smith. Jordan is a software developer at Verafin currently working on the Machine Learning team. He'll be giving a talk about what happens when humans and machines intersect, and what we as developers (and humans) should look out for. Abstract below:

AI is an exciting and quickly evolving field. I will be talking about how humans have interacted with AI in the past, how we are grappling with AI and its effects in the present, and how we should approach AI in the future. The talk will cover subjects such as interpretability, bias, ethics, and how to design systems with AI in mind.
