Summary:
This talk will provide an introduction to the theory and implementation of realtime collaboration in web and web-like applications. Theory covered will include Operational Transformations (OT), Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDT), as well as historical models of realtime collaborative editing. Obstacles common to practical implementations will be discussed. The talk will also include a practical demonstration using a pseudo-OT implementation with Google's Firebase Realtime Database.
