Data Science and Machine Learning On-Ramp with Jon Tupitza

Details

Join us for our first meeting of 2019, and welcome Jon Tupitza and enjoy his 3 hour workshop, Data Science and Machine Learning On-Ramp.

8:30AM - 9:00AM - light breakfast and networking
9:00AM - 12:00PM - Main Session

Topic - Data Science

Session Summary: This 3-hour workshop will begin by giving students a practical understanding of hypothesis testing and inferential statistics as they apply to performing predictive data analytic methods including classification, regression and clustering. Armed with these fundamentals students will gain hands-on experience by using Python in Azure Jupyter Notebooks to perform common data science tasks including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, principal component analysis, and the training and evaluation of machine learning models. Students will then learn how “deep learning” with Microsoft’s Cognitive Toolkit (CNTK) builds upon the these concepts and practices to deliver advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Finally, students will learn how machine learning models can be trained and operationalized using SQL Server Machine Learning Services.
