About the Workshop

Presenter: Samantha Bail (https://www.linkedin.com/in/spbail/), Data Insights Engineer at Flatiron Health.

Using Jupyter notebook and Pandas we will explore oncology treatment data. You will not only get an introduction to data analysis using Pandas, but also get a glimpse of the kind of healthcare data that engineers at Flatiron wrangle on a daily basis. (Note that the data used in the workshop is of course fake and not based on any real patient data we handle at Flatiron!)

There will be drinks and snacks at the meeting.

Workshop: Prerequisites

Please bring a laptop that runs a recent version of Python (2.7 or 3.x is okay!)
Some knowledge of Python - we will assume you are familiar with Python syntax and know how to install packages

If you can, please already install recent versions of Pandas (http://pandas.pydata.org/) and Jupyter notebook (http://jupyter.org/) before the session so we can get started straight away. We will send out detailed prep instructions before the event.
