Workshop: Four Horsemen of User Stories

In this interactive workshop, attendees will examine and deepen their understanding of user stories.

Activities will include:

  • telling stories using the Storymatic game
  • clarifying stories using conversations
  • learning more about a story from examples that then become automated tests
  • estimation exercises that lead to splitting stories into the INVEST model

Learning objectives

  • Tell stories
  • Teach ATDD (acceptance test driven development)
  • Teach story estimation
  • Practice story splitting

Anil Jaising (https://twitter.com/aniljaising?lang=en) has over 20 years of experience working with banks as a developer, team leader, and agile coach. Anil is a CSM, CSP and a martial arts coach with a third degree black belt in Karate. Anil is an executive director at JP Morgan and writes on NimbleByDesign.com blog focusing on agile, innovation and devops. Anil also speaks frequently at various industry and technology conferences. Anil is constantly looking for opportunities to learn and improve.

Linda Fung (https://www.linkedin.com/in/linda-luna-fung-3038909/) is a CSM and CSP. She is an aspiring agile coach who has an open mind to learn and open heart to connect. She is an optimist and a learn it all.
