Christchurch Python Meetup

Environment Canterbury

This month we'll be using the ECan building again which can be found at 200 Tuam Street. Mike Kittridge will be presenting a Python based distributed system he has designed for handling geospatial time series data (precipitation, stream flow, etc). The system uses Amazon S3 for object storage and Docker containers for easy deployment and provides web service APIs to allow access to the stored datasets. The system is still under development state Mike would be very interested in feedback on the design and implementation as there are still a couple areas that could be improved. Additionally, if you have a question about Python on or are stuck with some Python project, feel free to bring it up at the meetup. There will be people around who will be happy to help. Doors open at 5:30pm, with the talk starting at 6pm. For those who are interested, we are likely to head out for a drink nearby after the meetup. Do not hesitate to pass this information around to whomever you think may be interested to hear and discuss all things Python. PS: NZPUG's Code of Conduct applies for our local meetups and the online meetup.com group. Please read it up in case you haven't yet https://python.nz/code-of-conduct
